Rize'nin Pazar ilçesinde, Pazar Belediyesi'nin topladığı çöpleri Soğuksu Mahallesi'ndeki dere kenarına döktüğüne ilişkin gelen ihbar üzerine denetim ekipleri inceleme yaptı.
Denetim sonucunda, Pazar Belediyesi'ne ait çöp toplama araçlarının evsel atıkları dere kenarına döktüğü, çöplerin üzerinin toprakla kapatılmaya çalışıldığı ve bu durumun halk sağlığını tehdit eden ciddi bir çevre kirliliğine yol açtığı tespit edildi.
Yapılan açıklamada şu ifadelere yer verildi: "Pazar Belediye Başkanlığı çöplerin kaldırılarak atık tesisine gönderilmesi için uyarılmış, Çevre Kanunu'na istinaden belediyeye çevre kirliliği nedeniyle 1 milyon 299 bin lira idari ceza uygulanmıştır."
